Arnold Paguio is currently the Director of Student Life at Chabot College with an MA in Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies from Stanford University and a BS in Computer Science from Texas A&M University. Growing up in Houston, Texas, Arnold’s family was heavily involved in the Filipino community with both his parents serving as long time community organizers in various organizations. Upon graduation, he continued this tradition by working to develop youth programs for local API community organizations.
After a short career as a software developer, Arnold parlayed his volunteer experience into a career in Higher Education that now spans close to 20 years in various areas of Student Affairs including Multicultural Services, Residential Life, Student Activities, and Veterans Services. Arnold’s masters research at Stanford focused on how cultural identity of Asian American student leaders impacts their self-perception as leaders and his career has focused on empowering students to be agents of change and to take on leadership roles. Prior to joining the APAHE Board of Directors in 2019, Arnold had been an active member of the Conference Planning Committee since 2013.
