Dear Friends,
We invite you to join our upcoming webinar on the importance of protecting Asian American, Native American and Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs) and what advocates can do to respond to current federal threats to these critical programs.
AANAPISIs play a vital role in expanding college access and success for low-income, first-generation AAPI students. These institutions provide culturally responsive support, language access, and critical programming that helps students persist to degree completion and achieve economic mobility.
Yet, the U.S. Department of Education has proposed eliminating funding for Minority Serving Institutions, including AANAPISIs, putting millions of students at risk of losing access to the supports they need to succeed.
This webinar will unpack what is happening at the federal level and how attacks on AANAPISIs risk leaving behind the most underserved AAPI students. We will also discuss how advocates can take action to protect these investments.
Participants will:
- Understand the role of AANAPISIs in serving AAPI communities
- Learn how current federal actions seek to eliminate AANAPISI funding and access
- Discuss opportunities to advocate for protecting AANAPISI funding
Date: Thursday, May 28th
Time: 2-3pm ET

We hope you will join us for this timely and important conversation, and help us ensure AAPI students are not left behind.
