Option 1: APAHE/AANAPISI Institute
9:00-4:30 pm (max capacity 250)

The purpose of this annual, national convening, is to share, inform, and enrich AANAPISI grantees (former and present), eligible AANAPISI institutions, and community partners about the impact that AANAPISI federal funding has had over the past 18 years. The program will include plenary sessions regarding the national and federal landscape of AANAPISIs and updates on regional efforts. Breakout sessions include, but not limited to, interactive discussions on: (1) How to Write an AANAPISI Grant, (2) Establishing a New AANAPISI Grant, (3) Mental Health Needs on AANAPISI campuses, (4) Asian American Studies/Culturally Responsive Curriculum Development, (5) Institutionalization of AANAPISI, and more. Join us for a day of networking and learning! Optional dinner on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 (more to come).

Option 2: Refreshing Your Leadership Journey for LEAP Advance Program Alumni
9:00-4:30 pm (max capacity 40)
Co-facilitated by Audrey Yamagata-Noji & Henry Gee
This session is for individuals who have completed the LEAP Advance or LEAP LDPHE program. Stay connected! Join with other LEAP alumni to share your leadership journey, gain insights for strategies and solutions, and refresh and renew your leadership skills. This is an all day session with a lunch break on your own.
Light refreshments will be provided. Lunch will be on your own
Option 3: Navigating APAHE and Higher Ed Together
9:00-4:30 pm (50 max)
+ Oakland Cultural Immersion Tour (CIT)
Navigating APAHE and Higher Ed Together: 9:00 am-12 pm
Co-facilitated by: Dr. Erick Aragon, Dr. Ailene Crakes, and Takeo Kubo
This session is for first-time APAHE attendees. Learn about APAHE’s history, AANHPI issues in higher ed, leadership development, and strategies to navigate the conference. Through discussions and networking, gain insights to enhance your experience, connect with peers, and explore opportunities for growth and leadership in the field.
Oakland Cultural Immersion Tour 12-4:30 pm
Chair: Dr. Bobby Nakamoto
The second half of the day will be a cultural immersion tour of Oakland aboard a comfortable charter bus. This afternoon tour of Oakland will focus on sites with historical and cultural significance. Engage with communities around Oakland and learn about the rich history of activism and education in the northern California East Bay.

Option 4: Student Pre Conference + Oakland Cultural Immersion Tour

Co-Facilitated by Dr. Naomi Querubin Abesamis (Student Life and Leadership, Fullerton College), Arnold Paguio (Student Life, Chabot College) and Alvin Gubatina (Student Life, Skyline College)
The student pre conference morning session is the first half of the day focusing on student leadership and will end with a cultural immersion tour of Oakland. This workshop is for aspiring, emerging, and established Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) student leaders who will learn how to co-create and manifest their most authentic selves into leadership positions at their colleges and universities. Student leaders will participate in high-touch engaging and mindful activities to harness their passion, purpose and joy.
