CALL FOR PROPOSALS NOW OPEN FOR APAHE 2024, OAKLAND, CA.

THANK YOU TO FOR SUBMITTING YOUR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS FOR THE APAHE 2024 CONFERENCE.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS IS NOW CLOSED

The theme for the APAHE 2024 National Conference is Radical Hope: Leading with Love, Courage, and Action.   Radical hope is the antithesis to trauma caused by oppressive social conditions. This theme encourages us to adopt a reflective practice to achieve transformation through the act of radical hope and inspires us to embody what is necessary for our healing. In the space of radical hope lies a new vision for a future, without the limitations of the past. Our hope is predicated with LOVE, COURAGE, and ACTION.    LOVE reminds us to continue the heart work of APAHE, celebrating and honoring the richness of our community and culture. We lead with COURAGE to create brave spaces that dismantle and disrupt systemic oppression that creates barriers for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) in higher education systems in the wake of the rise in hate crimes and violence against our community. We move forward with ACTION, to advance initiatives, reimagine and create a new reality for our AANHPI community.   How will you manifest radical hope and lead with love, courage, and action to open and clear paths with barriers, roadblocks and inequities so our community can thrive?   *Note on Terminology Racial and ethnic identity labels abound and often are associated with time and a historical context. Adopted for the 2024 APAHE annual conference, the term Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) is predicated in the spirit of inclusivity amongst our Asian, Desi, and Pasifika communities and identities. APAHE’s intent is not to be dismissive of any other labels that are and have come before it. We are not a monolith. On the contrary, we acknowledge the complexity and diversity amongst and within us.
